The collection realised almost $750,000, with all 767 lots sold. Starring was a collection of miniature books published by Barbara Raheb at the Pennyweight Press, which sold for $23,750.
Further highlights included a pair of Louis XV style tables, measuring just 3 inches tall, which sold for $22,500, while a Queen Anne style ladies writing desk by Paul A Runyon made $10,625.
"A new standard has been set in the miniature world for quality works of art," commented John P Walcher, a specialist in fine furniture and decorative arts at the auction house.
The collection was accumulated by Venus - a leading authority in her field - over the course of 50 years, with most of the objects on a 1:12 scale. It includes tiny walking sticks the size of toothpicks and even miniscule taxidermy in the form of leopard and bearskin rugs.
