A maolica footed dish attributed to the painter of the Apollo Basin was the top lot of Sotheby's Of Royal and Noble Descent auction.

The lot made £257,000 ($366,868) in the January 19 sale in London, beating an estimate of £40,000 ($57,100) by 542.5%.
The painter of the Apollo Basin was a 16th century artisan from the city of Urbino, Italy.
His or her work is housed in some of the world's top institutions, including the British Museum.
The Apollo Basin resides in the Pesaro Museum, Italy.
