The collection of Ambassador Ragnar Petri and Mrs Ingrid Burdin Petri has sold at Manatee Galleries' July 27 auction in Florida, with a fine Chinese jadeite brush pot seeing the highest bids.

The pot, superbly carved and originating from China's Qing dynasty (1644-1912), sold for $10,000. It was expected to sell for just $3,000, but realised a 233.3% increase on estimate.
The Petri collection, featuring Asian porcelain, artworks and carvings, has never been seen at auction before.
Ragnar Petri was the former Swedish ambassador to many countries. He now lives in Florida with Mrs Ingrid Burdin Petri, who was born into a prosperous family of collectors.
