Dinky toy collection sells for $339,500 at Vectis

A huge collection of Dinky Toys has sold for a combined £230,000 ($339,560) at Vectis Auctions, UK.

The Leyland 'Corn Products Ltd' tanker is exceptionally rare

The sale took place from March 17-19. Highlights included a Leyland "Corn Products Ltd" tanker, which realised £6,960 ($10,275).

The hugely impressive single-owner collection (comprising around 2,000 pieces) was built up over 50 years.

Consignor Raymond Hainsworth commented prior to the sale: "Part of me is sad of course, but we have had a lot of pleasure from it so I am not upset it is going."
