A corner washroom from the world famous Orient Express is among the highlights at Bonhams' 20th Century Decorative Arts sale in New York.

The piece, valued at $10,000-15,000 ahead of the December 16 sale, dates to 1927 and was designed by Rene Prou.
Prou was well known for his opulent designs for luxury ships and hotels. Elaborate wooden panels inlaid with flowers were his trademark; they were a key element of the Orient Express style.
The lot is accompanied by a maquette of an Orient Express sleeping car.
