An 18th century Indian painting that was expected to make £1,000 ($1,679) at auction has sold for £61,000 ($102,444) at Duke's in Dorchester, UK - an increase of 6,000%.

Local publication The Blackmore Vale Magazine reported that the lot was discovered in the home of a local collector, although its true value was not obvious at first.
It transpired soon after the auction that the work was produced in Basohli in the mid 1700s - a centre for Indian art at the time.
Works made there are highly sought after among connoisseurs.
