Swann Auction Galleries' June 17 auction promises something for everyone, featuring maps, atlases and books; literature; art; and plates and ephemera.
Among the star lots is John Speed's A New and Accurat Map of the World (spelt here as it is in Swann's catalogue), a double-page engraved double-hemispheric world map, measuring 395 x 520 mm and dated to 1626 or later.

Despite some short tears in the margin, a vertical fold creased upwards at the map's bottom verso, and paper mounting remnants along its top edge, this historic manuscript is priced $6,000-9,000.
Also appearing is a glamourous pop art depiction of Queen Elizabeth II by Andy Warhol, one of his many colour plates of various queens which also included Beatrix of the Netherlands and Margrethe of Denmark.

With some yellow and faint soiling to its covers, this 1985 piece is signed by Warhol himself, in full along the right hand side margin. It will appear for sale estimated at $1,000-1,500.
