Chris Levine's She's Light, Laser 3 has set a new world record for the artist in Christie's Kate Moss, From the Collection of Gert Elfering auction, which was held on September 25 in London.

With the sale completely dedicated to images of the world famous model, Levine's chromogenic lenticular shot of Kate Moss in a light-box sold for £115,875 ($185,284) against a £100,000-150,000 estimate.
Chris Levine is a light artist who works across many mediums. He is perhaps best known for his sensational portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which featured in the 2012 exhibition Queen and Image at the National Portrait Gallery.
The Kate Moss work is remarkable, giving a 3D, holographic quality that shifts as the viewer's perspective changes.

Top lot of the sale was Allen Jones' A Model Model, 2013, a life-size sculpture of Kate Moss that is unique in its combination of material and colours. The first in an edition that will not exceed six, the piece sold for £133,875 ($214,066), comfortably meeting its £120,000-180,000 estimate.
With each artist offering unique perspectives on the model's ever changing look, Jones' Kate in red, 2013, an oil on canvas work, made £121,875 ($194,878).
"As a model, Kate has become a commodity. For the media she is news, and for artists she is now subject matter," the artist said of his work.
Further highlights included world-renowned photographer Irving Penn's stunning nude entitled Kate Moss (hand on thigh), which was originally produced for American Vogue's September 1996 issue. A platinum-palladium print, number four in an edition of 11, it sold for £61,875 ($98,938).
Gert Elfering is a photographer, gallery-owner and collector, who has held five seperate sale through Christie's. So far, these auction have totalled more than $50m, resulting in a 600% return on purchase.
