A Junyao bottle vase that comes with a top end estimate of $1.5m is the star of Hong Kong Auctions' forthcoming Fine Chinese Paintings, Ceramics, Bronzes & Works of Art event.
The auction takes place in New York on Sunday March 20 and has a number of fine pieces up for grabs, which are sure to interest serious fine art collectors and investors.
The pick of the bunch is a very fine and rare rose-purple 35cm high Junyao pineapple bottle vase from the Southern Song Dynasty.

The elegant pear-shaped body tapers to a slender neck and rises to a flared mouth. It is decorated with rose-purple glaze pendants in pineapple form, which flow down from the shoulder and end in a circular unglazed foot.
Junyao vessels of this slender pear-shaped form are extremely rare, with the majority of Junyao pieces being of 'open forms' such as dishes and bowls.
A rare powder blue and rose-purple glazed Junyao meiping is another lot attracting attention ahead of the auction. The 26.4cm high item has a high end estimate of $1m.
