This unsettling painting is considered one of Jagger's greatest works

It realised £221,000 ($281,509) against a valuation of £30,000 ($38,214), an increase of 636%.

Jagger (1891-1958) was an acclaimed portraitist in high demand among the aristocracy of his era.
