A monument to the failures of the English national football team sold for £425,000 ($640,071) at Sotheby's London yesterday.

The artist, Maurizio Cattelan, explained: "Carved into it are all the defeats of England's national football team. I guess it's a piece which talks about pride, missed opportunities and death."
Perhaps unsurprisingly it went to a French bidder.
