Madonna and Child, a previously unrecorded drawing by Henry Moore, is to be offered in a sale at Bonhams London on November 18.

It's valued at £30,000-50,000 ($45,582-75,970).

Henry Moore's Madonna and Child was executed for a charity fundraiser

The piece dates to 1952 and was executed as a submission for a Christmas charity fundraiser. Moore gave the original to the owner of the charity and it has passed down in his family ever since. 

Matthew Bradbury, Bonhams' director of modern British and Irish art, says: "It has been fascinating to come across this previously unrecorded work.

"This drawing exemplifies Moore's interest in abstractions of the human figure and its story provides a touching insight into the mind of its artist. It feels fitting to offer it for sale as we approach Christmas."
