A super-rare CGC 9.6-graded copy of Tales of Suspense #39 (featuring the first appearance of Iron Man) is to sell with an opening bid of $83,650.
Iron Man is one of the biggest comic book characters of the Silver Age
It will be sold in Heritage Auctions’ November 16-18 Comics and Comic Art sale in Beverly Hills.
As the origin issue for one of the biggest Silver Age characters, the comic is in enormous demand.
Another CGC 9.6 copy made a massive $375,000 in 2012. This one is almost certainly going to exceed that by a big margin.
