The European Fine Arts Fair (TEFAF) gets underway this weekend, with a dizzying number of exhibitors from all avenues of fine art convening on Maastricht, in the Netherlands.
Last year 73,000 people visited the event and numbers are expected to again be impressive.
The collections of Galerie G Sarti are sure to attract interest among collectors and investors in Italian artwork. The Paris based dealer specialises in old master paintings as well as 17th and 18th century furniture and art.
It focuses particularly on 14th and 15th century Italian paintings and holds a biennial exhibition of works from the period.
Among the highlights displayed at TEFAF will be a work by Italian painter Michele Tosini, known simply as Portrait of a Man. This 116 by 86cm oil on panel work was created in around 1555 and has featured in many major exhibitions around the world.

Another work of note depicts the front of a cassone with three scenes from Boccaccio's Teseida, thought to have been created in around 1440 by Paolo da Visso. This stunning tempera, gold and pastiglia on panel piece measures 65.5 by 153cm.
TEFAF runs until March 27.
