Abstract artworks by Canadian painter Jack Bush (1909-1977) set three consecutive world record prices at Christie's on July 17.

The 1966 canvas January Reds crossed the auction block first, bringing $219,750. Next came the 1965 work Pink Blossom, which sold for $363,750 - the first of the record-breaking lots.
A whimsical work entitled Pink and Orange (Pinched Orange) brought $387,750, and finally 1965's Red Side Right (Right Side Red) sold for $603,750.
The previous $267,000 world record priceas achieved in May 2012 by Bush's work Glide.
All the canvases sold with substantial increases on their estimates. Red Side Right (Right Side Red) sold with a 1,107.5% increase on its $50,000 top estimate.
