Original artwork by a number of notable artists including Jean Dufy, Antoine Blanchard and Avinash Chandra is to sell at a forthcoming fine and decorative art auction in Florida. The artworks will be offered alongside an array of antique furniture, porcelain, silver and art glass on January 12, 2013.

Jean Dufy (1888-1964), known for his playful use of bold colours and ability to capture dazzling light, is expected to top the sale with an original gouache work depicting a park scene featuring horses and carriages. The signed and framed piece, entitled Paris Cavaliers Vers Le Bois, is expected to bring $15,000-25,000.
Previous works by the artist have performed well at auction. Port de Peche, displaying a characteristically bright and busy port scene, sold at Sotheby's New York on November 10 for $80,500, suggesting that there is a ready market for Dufy paintings.

Works by Antoine Blanchard (1910-1988), best known for his Parisian street scenes, will also feature at the sale. Paris is a city steeped in art and culture and Blanchard is considered one of her most popular sons.
Blanchard's untitled oil on canvas carries a presale estimate of $6,000-8,000, while an untitled work in oils by Indian artist Avinash Chandra (1931-1991) has been given a $30,000-50,000 valuation. A comparable Chandra sold at Christie's London in June 2012 for £39,650 ($61,656) - suggesting the artist is developing a growing following.
