Unit 6 from Happy's Curios (1972-1978) by Ken Price (1935-2012) is valued at $300,000-400,000 ahead of an auction at Phillips on December 17.
One of 10 units at Price's seminal "Happy's Curios" exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1978, the lot comprises a number of ceramic vessels painted in interlocking geometric patterns - described by the artist as tributes to Mexican pottery.

Price is a sculptor best known for his twisting of traditional methods of ceramic art into biomorphic and erotic forms - along with his work as a printmaker.
The New York sale will also feature pieces from his Club series, including a vase valued at $60,000-90,000.
A retrospective last year at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has significantly raised Price's profile, and in March of this year, his sculpture Oh Gee achieved a record $314,500 at Phillips.
A Rolling Volume chair (1991) made from mirror-polished stainless steel by Ron Arad carries an estimate of $50,000-70,000.
Arad is a designer whose work encompasses everything from architecture to lighting and makes use of unconventional and industrial materials.
The record price for his work at auction is $409,000 for a D-Sofa at Phillips in 2007.
A large, early thistle form from Hans Coper is another highlight of the sale - estimated to make an identical figure of $50,000-70,000.
Coper taught ceramics at Camberwell School of Art in London, and his work is featured in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the V&A.
