Norman Rockwell's Fireman study valued at $100,000

Fireman study Norman Rockwell
The study was produced by Rockwell for The Fireman

Rockwell completed the piece in preparation for the May 27, 1944 cover of the Saturday Evening Post, and presented it to the sitter, Howard Lewis - a New York based publisher.

There has been a renewed interest in Rockwell of late, resulting in a significant advance in his price point. In December 2013, his Saying Grace set a new auction record for his work when it sold for $46m at Sotheby's New York.
