The auctioneer has just reported its most successful spring season in more than 300 years.
What's more, the Dorotheum will be hoping that its upcoming October 11 sale continues this success.
Offered pieces in the sale include various works of significant provenance, including a painting from 1846 by Franz Ludwig Catel which belonged to the Tsar's family.

It is assumed that the German painter Franz Ludwig Catel painted a portrait of the Tsar's family Karl Friedrich Alexander, crown prince of Württemberg, in his painting "A Stroll in Palermo".
The reason for the journey was the illness of Alexandra Fedorowna, who was Charlotte of Prussia before her marriage.
The sky, the ocean and the rock formations occupy two thirds of the atmospheric picture.
To give a clue as to how valued and coveted this work is, another watercolour from the era shows that this painting - with an Italian "Catelli" sign - was in the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo in the rooms of the Tsarina Alexandra.

This piece was subsequently handed on to the family von Württemberg, and is going under the hammer on October 11 with a €250,000-350,000 ($504,368) estimate.
Other highlights in the Dorotheum's auction include old master paintings from important European collections, plus a pair of porcelain vases that the empress Joséphine Bonaparte gave as a present to Queen Luise of Prussia.
The auction will be held in Vienna, Austria.
