Sotheby's is to present its auction of The Collection of Prince and Princess Henry de La Tour d'Auvergne Lauraguais, featuring several items from Salvador Dali.

The sale will be held on May 3, 2012 at the auction house's London showroom and is to consist of a range of items from the French family's English homes.
The de La Tour d'Auvergne Lauraguais family is one of France's most distinguished. Emilio Terry, a well known interior designer and member of the Parisian avant-garde, was also the uncle of Prince Henry de La Tour d'Auvergne Lauraguais.
The auction will feature an extensive collection from Terry's library alongside fine furniture, scagliola and Old Master paintings.
"It is an honour for Sotheby's to be entrusted with this wonderful collection from one of France's greatest and most glamorous families," said Mario Tavella of Sotheby's Europe. "Emilio Terry was at the heart of avant-garde circles in 1920s Paris and many of the books in his library reflect his intimate relationship with key figures such as Henri Matisse and Salvador Dali."
A number of Dali works will feature in the sale, including a presentation copy of his Les Chants de Maldoror, with an inscription to Terry from the artist. This example, an unnumbered copy in an edition of 210, is expected to sell for $25,000-35,000.
Paul Fraser Collectibles will be covering more of this auction in the next few days. We also have this Salvador Dali autographed drawing in stock, providing a rare opportunity to own an original from the artist.
