The auction house has been forced to make the change following the travel problems caused in the region by Hurricane Sandy.
"This revised timeline will give our clients and international staff greater flexibility to view the exhibition and participate in the auction," it said.
The auction will feature several major Picasso works, including Nature morte aux tulips which has a $35m-50m estimate.
Sotheby's Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale remains on November 7, and the 19th Century European Art auction is unmoved on November 8.
November is a hugely busy time for Sotheby's and Christie's art departments.
Christie's own Evening Sale of Impressionist and Modern Art, featuring Monet's $50m-valued Nympheas, takes place on November 7, while its much anticipated Post-War & Contemporary sale occurs on November 14.
Sotheby's own Contemporary Art sale will be held the previous evening, where Mark Rothko's No.1 (Royal Red and Blue) looks set to star.
