Albert Einstein’s letter to physicist David Bohm led a sale at Winners in Israel with a final bid of $84,000.
That’s more than four times its $20,000 estimate.
Einstein sent the letter in 1954
Einstein writes in reference to Bohm’s troubles in connecting quantum and relativistic field theory: "You should not be depressed by the enormity of the problem.
“If God has created the world his primary worry was certainly not to make its understanding easy for us. I feel it strongly since fifty years."
We’ve tracked some increasingly strong results for Einstein letters over the past couple of years, with ones that mention God proving the most popular.
