As we've reported, James T McCusker is planning a sale on May 24-25 in Massachusetts which they hope will achieve a total of $1m. Some of the highlights include some intriguing and historic stampless covers.
However, some collectors will be more interested in the autographs section which includes two air mail covers signed by great figures from the history of aviation.
The first, which bears a black stamped cachet for "Stultz Day, Middletown, Pa.", on a cover franked with single 10c (C10A) stamp and Middletown, Pa cancel, bears a clear signature from legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart. It is expected to sell for $1,200 - $1,500.

The second airmail cover bears a bold autograph in the upper left corner, franked with a 5c (C12) stamp, tied by Kitty Hawk, N.C. 12/17/30 duplex on a rare Ralph Dyer Hand drawn and hand painted "of the period" cachet with a hand tinted photograph of Wright as part of the cachet design.
This is a one-of-a-kind rarity from Dyer's personal collection. It is rather cautiously listed at $1,500-2,000. If it were to sell within this range it would appear to be something of a bargain, as it is a superb investment.
Collectors keen to acquire the signature of Orville Wright might also want to take a look at either this cheque signed by the pioneer, or this one signed by the Wright brothers together. Both are currently available away from the McCusker auction.
