Some 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence. And a remarkable collection of documents, which contains the signatures of all 56, is coming to auction in the US on December 15.

As one of the finest of only 40 complete sets of Declaration of Independence signers in existence, and one of very few remaining in private hands, this superb collection warrants its estimate of $1.2m to $1.5m.

Including the rare and highly sought autograph of Butten Gwinnett, this is a lot that demands attention.
