A cheque signed by Ernest Hemingway in 1956 is to lead a sale at East Coast Books on August 16 with a $2,500-3,500 estimate.
It's made out to Roberto Herrera, a friend he met while living in Cuba who also acted as his photographer.

Last year the typewriter on which Hemingway wrote The Dangerous Summer and A Moveable Feast sold for $65,000 at Profiles in History. This April, a first edition copy of In Our Time made $25,000.
