A Neil Armstrong autograph has been given one of the highest estimates in an autograph sale that will be held on February 23 in Pennsylvania.
![]() As detailed in the letter, Armstrong refused to give his autograph on the philatelic items, a policy he would later expand to all signature requests. This has left a short supply and has led to high values at auction. |
The typed letter displays a bold autograph, and is expected to see bids of up to $1,500. Its estimate confirms the PFC40 Autograph Index's finding that, following his death in 2012, the Moonwalker's signature has witnessed a significant leap in value.
The auction also contains a line-up of autographs from presidents, historical figures and aviators, as well as a selection of signed books.
