previously performed very well at
auction.

January 24 will see works by Maurice Sendak, Beatrix Potter and Dr Seuss jostling with Schulz for the top spot.

Both Schulz and Dr Seuss feature on Forbes' 2012 highest-earning dead celebrities list - a superb guide for investors looking for clues as to whose memorabilia is likely to endure - which suggests a strong performance is likely at auction.

Although presale estimates have not yet been made public, highly anticipated lots include the original art for an early Peanuts comic strip, completed by Schulz in ink and pencil and dated March 1, 1953.

A similar strip entitled It's the Great Pumpkin brought $41,000 as part of an online auction in October2012, while one of the most valuable Peanuts strips ever to appear at auction, featuring an ill-fated baseball game, sold for $113,525 at Heritage Auctions in 2007.

Here at Paul Fraser Collectibles we have a brilliant selection of investment grade Peanuts memorabilia currently for sale, including this autographed sketch of Snoopy.

A rare, signed and inscribed first edition of Maurice Sendak's entrancingly illustrated children's book Where the Wild Things Are is also set to star at the highly anticipated sale.

A comparable, unsigned first edition sold in San Francisco in 2007 for $7,000.

Following his death in May of last year, interest in items related to the life and works of the esteemed author and illustrator has soared.

The auction will provide collectors with a good idea as to the current health of the Sendak market.
