A second world war era Beano comic strip mocking Nazi "buzz bombs" is to sell on March 29.
|
It's valued at £1,000-1,500 ($1,412-2,118) ahead of the auction at Curr & Dewarr in Edinburgh.
The strip was drawn by Scottish cartoonist Dudley D Watkins and published in a 1940 edition of the Beano.
Watkins' merciless ribbing of the Nazis saw him added to the infamous Black Book, containing the names of people to be immediately arrested after the invasion of Britain.
He was in excellent company; with Virginia Woolf, Noel Coward and Bertrand Russell among his fellow inductees.
