The research archive of the late engineer with Air New Zealand includes important tomes concerning military history, and, in particular, the Maori Battalion - an infantry battalion of the New Zealand national army operative during world war two.
Morrison, who passed away in Scotland earlier this year, personally compiled a list of every one of the unit's men who died in action, tracing photos and personal histories.
His collection also includes a handwritten manuscript of Maori legends in the script of Lady Eliza Grey, daughter of Royal Navy officer Richard Spencer, estimated at $4,722.
