Another drawing by Shepard titled For a Long Time They Looked at the River Beneath Them achieved £58,0750 ($96,656) - up 17.5% on a £50,000 ($82,260) estimate.

An early sketch for the iconic Pooh sticks image, it was thought lost until recently.

The sale also saw a record broken for the work of photographer Julia Margaret Cameron at auction.

We have an original autographed drawing of Winnie-the-Pooh by EH Shepard, dating to 1970.
