Christopher Robin's Braces by EH Shepard, illustrator of the Winnie-the-Pooh series of children's books, made £68,500 ($112,697) at Sotheby's on December 10.
The ink and watercolour drawing first appeared in an edition of the periodical Home Chat in 1928. It achieved an increase of 14.1% on an estimate of £60,000 ($98,712).

Another drawing by Shepard titled For a Long Time They Looked at the River Beneath Them achieved £58,0750 ($96,656) - up 17.5% on a £50,000 ($82,260) estimate.
An early sketch for the iconic Pooh sticks image, it was thought lost until recently.
The sale also saw a record broken for the work of photographer Julia Margaret Cameron at auction.
