A first edition, inscribed copy of Flannery O'Connor's book of short stories A Good Man is Hard to Find (1955) is to feature in a sale of 19th and 20th century Literature at Swann Auction Galleries.
It will auction with a $6,000 high estimate on June 19.
The inscription is dedicated to her former professor George Haslam, who taught her at the Georgia State College for Women and with whom she remained close throughout her life.

O'Connor (1925-1964) was a central writer in the American Gothic canon, with her first collection of short stories featuring seamy characters and violent storylines.
