A complete set of Harry Potter first editions is to auction at Lyon & Turnbull in Edinburgh tomorrow (May 7), valued at £9,000-12,000 ($15,291-20,389).
The auction house's Simon Vickers told the Edinburgh Evening News: "This is a wonderful complete set, but the real value lies in the first book, an extremely rare first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

"Only 500 copies were published at first, of which 300 went to libraries and were rebound, and effectively lost. The book became a classic, and the series a global publishing phenomenon."
Recent sales of Harry Potter first editions have shown that the series is as popular as ever among collectors, with one example selling for £35,000 ($57,249) in a London auction last year.
