The original art for the cover of Superman #12 (1941) is to be offered in a sale at Heritage Auctions.
It's expected to make around $125,000 in a sale of comics and comic book art in New York on May 30.

The piece was drawn by Fred Ray, a prolific golden age comic book artist. It was formerly part of the collection of friend and fellow DC artist Jerry Robinson.
Joe Mannarino, director of comics and comic art at Heritage New York, commented: "Not only was Jerry Robinson simply an amazing artist, he was also a visionary collector.
"He was gathering and keeping his own art, and that of his friends in the business, at a time when no one thought anything at all of it."
The sale will also include a rare copy of Batman #1.
