A Thomas Jefferson-signed copy of the coinage act dating to 1792 is estimated to make $50,000-75,000 at Swann Auction Galleries.
The lot will lead a sale of printed Americana on April 8 in New York.

The document establishes the dollar as the legal tender of the US and goes on to list the denominations of the new currency, from eagles to half cents.
It also provides the foundations for the structure of the US Mint and authorises the hiring of the various necessary parties, such as engravers and assayers.
While two other copies of the act are known to exist, neither of them are signed - making this the only complete example to appear at auction since 1917.

A first edition copy of The Book of Mormon bound in its original calf skin is valued at $40,000-60,000.
The book was first published in 1830, shortly before the establishment of the Mormon Church, and lists founder Joseph Smith as "author and proprietor" rather than "translator" as he is referred in later editions.
The church went on to become hugely wealthy and influential, with a global following of 15m people.
The book is heavily worn, but is exceptionally rare in any condition.
