A rare 1926 Brough Superior 980cc SS100 Alpine Sport project is to star in Bonhams' October 18 Stafford Sale.

Brough Superior is among the most coveted motorbike marques

The lot is expected to make £120,000-160,000 ($185,831-247,775). It's one of several Brough superiors on offer.

Ben Walker, head of Bonhams' motorcycles department, comments: "This year's Autumn Stafford sale features an extraordinary selection of mighty Brough Superior motorcycles.

"We've flown the fantastic Sydney based motorcycles some 9,000 miles to be in the Bonhams sale.

"The late-owner was an enthusiast and a true connoisseur…it is an unprecedented opportunity for motorcycle collectors."

A 1929 Brough Superior SS100 Alpine Grand Sports sold for £315,100 ($492,769) at Bonhams in November - a world record for a Brough.
