A 1933 Duesenberg Model J convertible coupe will be among the star lots of Mecum Auctions' Monterey sale.
Silent movie star Marie Dressler was the original owner of the spectacular car, having acquired it from new in 1933.

Later that same year Hollywood producer Roy Del Ruth bought it, commissioning high-end makers Bohman & Schwartz to upgrade it with disappearing top coachwork.
The result is one of the most iconic Duesenbergs ever offered.
It's actually the only long wheelbase model with this body.
Mecum comments: "Every so often, like a debutante at the cotillion ball, a regal classic-era Duesenberg Model J is presented to the public, one with such impeccable style and breeding that onlookers are spellbound by its beauty and grace.
"Chassis number J-386/2421 is just such an automobile, a breathtaking masterpiece that has elicited the admiration of generations of Duesenberg aficionados."
A 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari is likely to prove another highlight.
The car is one of only three finished with matt black paintwork. It's outfitted with a terrifically powerful V12 hybrid engine capable of launching it to speeds up to 217mph.
Absurdly, it can accelerate to 62mph in less than three seconds.
Only 499 have been built, which we have to conclude is probably a good thing.
The sale will take place on August 18-20.
No estimate is available for either lot, but both are likely to sell for several million each.
