A 1955 Porsche Speedster Pre-A is set to lead a sale of classic cars at Dan Morphy Auctions in Las Vegas on April 25.
Valued at $250,000-300,000, the lot is one of very few surviving pre-A specimens.

Of these, only 1,233 Speedsters were produced - meaning those that remain are highly sought after by collectors. The present lot was included in the first ever Silver State Classic Challenge in Nevada in 1988, as well as the La Carrera Classic that same year.
It has remained in the same collection since 1975.
An example in similar condition sold for $238,217 in a Paris auction earlier this year.
A 1948 Pontiac Silver Streak "Standard" Woody is likely to prove another highlight, with a valuation of $150,000-180,000.
Morphy comments: "Labelled by Pontiac as being 'Big, Bold, and Beautiful' the 1948 Silver Streak Woody Wagon was the division's most expensive vehicle produced in 1948….
"At a cost of nearly $2500, the Silver Streak Woody would be discontinued following 1948's production run."
This example is one of the finest on the market.
