A 1975 Lamborghini Countach LP400 "Periscopica" led Bonhams' Greenwich Concours D'elegance sale in London on June 1, realising an impressive $1.2m.
The supercar is one of only 150 ever built and features less than 16,500km on the clock. It is the property of just one owner since it rolled out of the showroom in 1978.

Countach, the nickname that stuck with the model since its inception, translates along the lines of "Holy Smokes!" in Piedmontese.
The gull wing doors and stocky, angular body went on to become defining tropes in the design of high-end sports cars - making the Countach one of the key models of its generation.
A 1961 Jaguar E-Type series 1 3.8-litre roadster was another highlight, selling for $335,500.

Jim Ladd, a dealership owner and racing driver, raced the model to victory in a number of hill climbs throughout the 1960s.
Later on it was sold to an American owner, ended up in storage in Pennsylvania and has since received extensive renovations.
The sheer desirability of the model ensures that examples are sought after in any condition. In April last year a 1961 E-Type discovered in a barn in Bath, UK made £109,020 ($169,033) at Bonhams.
