A rare 1986 Lancia Delta S4 Group B rally car is heading to auction at Bonhams.
The model achieved a string of victories at championships between 1985 and 1986.
Lancia was a dominant force in rally racing during the 1980s
However, it ultimately brought Group B racing to an end, when team racers Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto were killed in a shock accident in the 1986 Tour de Corse.
Around 80 are believed to exist today.
The present specimen was built just before the ban. It features seats with the names of works driver Markku Alén and his navigator Ilkka Kivimäki.
It’s valued at up to $824,000 ahead of the Les Grande Marques du Monde au Palais sale in Paris on February 8.
