Following Paul Fraser Collectibles' report on US car auction sales being dominated by Chevrolet last week, yet another US car auction has seen the success of this well-loved manufacturer.
The sale which took place on April 5-7, 2012 featured a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible which sold for $203,500. The pristine vehicle had been reconditioned with contemporary Corvette parts to offer the buyer a show-standard vintage vehicle that drives like new.
A 1935 Chevrolet Street Rod was among the most distinctive cars on sale. Fully customised and restored throughout, this unique model sold for just $88,000.
A particularly slick model of the ever-popular 1963 Chevrolet Corvette, also known as the Sting Ray, made $94,600. The blacked-out custom provided a superb example of one of the most sought-after Chevrolet models, installed with a 1,000hp twin turbo engine.
Other notable lots included two Ford Shelby GT500 hardtops, painted with the US "Stars and Stripes" design, which were sold for charity at a combined price exceeding £1m. A Spyker C8 "Spyder" SWB also sold for $220,000.
Paul Fraser Collectibles is currently offering this Lewis Hamilton Signed Jersey for those looking to purchase a piece of motor racing history.
