This Ferrari has been ridden in by some of the world's most beautiful women, and was a big star at Paris's Rétromobile classic car sale on Friday (February 3).
The 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Spider California was previously owned by Roger Vadim, the filmmaker whose movie credits included the 1969 sci-fi classic Barbarella.
Barbarella helped launch the career of Jane Fonda, one of many beautiful women with whom Vadim had relationships. Others included Brigitte Bardot, Annette Strøyberg and Catherine Deneuve.
Vadim later wrote of his experiences in the book Bardot, Deneuve, Fonda: My Life With The Three Most Beautiful Women In The World.

It's understood that this 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Spider California was among Vadim's favourite classic cars. It was a popular sight around his homes in Paris and St Tropez, and was often ridden in by Bardot or Strøyberg.
French collector and Ferrari fanatic Jean-Claude Bajol was this car's most recent owner. It sold from his extensive collection on Friday.
In the end, the car brought $5.8m - yet another success for Ferrari in the classic car markets. But if you missed out on Rétromobile, don't fret...
