Australian racer Jack Ehret’s legendary 1951 Vincent Black Lightning will headline Bonhams’ Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction on January 18, 2018.
Jack Ehret, legendary Australian racer, was the original owner of this Vincent Black Lightning
This was the bike Ehret used to set the 1953 Australian Land Speed Record – a palm-sweating 141.5 mph. Later he rode it to victory in a string of events around the world.
Vincent made only 30 Black Lightnings.
Ben Walker, head of motorcycling at Bonhams, says: "After the 'Bathing Suit Bike' ridden by [Rollie] Free, the Ehret bike is likely the most important Black Lightning in existence and represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the world's most desirable machines."
