A superb example of the 1928 Bentley 4 ½-litre has been consigned to H&H Classics' July 24th Buxton auction in the UK.

Formerly owned by respected enthusiast and honorary legal advisor to the Bentley Drivers Club, Clive Compston Russell Vick, the car is valued at $400,000-470,000 ($618,532-729,775).
In July 2012, the auction record for any British car sold at auction was set by a supercharged model of the 4 ½-litre driven by Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin at £5m ($7.7m).
The example at auction led a varied life under the care of Russell Vick, who campaigned the motor at a range of events before it was retired in the mid-1980s.
It was then sold to the current vendor, who completed an extensive restoration, yet retained the original chassis, engine crankcase, D-type gearbox and registration number.
It has been rebodied by James E Pearce, but still features the original brake drums from its racing days.

A prototype of the Jaguar XJ220 will provide another of the sale's highlights, and is being offered without reserve.
The prototype was cited in several press releases from Jaguar, most notably after achieving 186mph at the Bruntingthorpe circuit in 1990 and successfully completing 24-hour durability tests at the Millbrook proving ground.
The car was also personally inspected by Princess Diana at the official opening of JaguarSport's Bloxham facility in October 1992.
Sadly, Jaguar aborted manufacture of the XJ220 supercar due to the global recession of the early 1990s.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has an exciting collection of Formula One and racing memorabilia for sale.
