A collection of 40 classic cars discovered in a garage in Michigan has sold for $300,000.

Most of the cars, which were mainly American models, had been undisturbed for the past 30 years.
The family of the original owner consigned them in an online auction hosted by Repocast on August 10.
The wide variation in quality and condition meant values ranged from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands.
It included Buicks, Chevys and Fords.
The star lot was a 1956 Ford Thunderbird, which realised $27,100.
