The smallest car ever built, the Peel P50, will star among a stunning collection of microcars set to auction in the new year.
February 15-16 will see the 200-strong Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum collection come to auction in the US courtesy of RM Auctions, all without reserve.
The three-wheeled Peel P50 was made on the Isle of Man, UK between 1963 and 1964. Featuring a single door, and one seat, just 47 were produced.
Their unique claim to fame and scarcity ensures strong interest whenever they appear at auction. We expect to see this 1964 version make at least $60,000.
Amassed over 15 years, the collection will also include the only complete Messerschmitt collection in the world, including the only surviving 1961 Messerschmitt KR201 Sport.
"Bruce Weiner is the consummate collector with an incredible sense of fun and remarkable eye for rarity and quality," commented Rob Myers, the founder of RM Auctions.
"As a microcar collection, the Bruce Weiner Museum is unequivocally the finest of its kind worldwide. With many items having been closely guarded in private ownership, and the vast majority coming to public auction for the first time, the sale is truly unprecedented."

Collectors will also have the opportunity to grab themselves one of four Goggomobil Transporters that are appearing at the sale, as well as one of two Voisin Biscooters.
And of course there will be strong representation from arguably the most iconic model of microcar, the BMW Isetta.
"To me, it's all about the thrill of the chase," says Weiner.
"My collection has brought me incredible joy over the years, but simply finding and restoring these cars is not enough for me. In order to fully appreciate them, I need to share them."
The sale will be augmented by Weiner's collection of neon signs and vending machines from the 1950s.
