A rare version of the 1961 Jaguar E-type Series 1 roadster has auctioned for £140,630 ($185,430).
It was among the stars of Silverstone Auctions' July 30-31 sale.

Regular Series-1 E-types seldom surpass $100,000. Yet the fact this is one of the original 92 right hand drive models, and one of the original batch of 500 Series-1s (the flat floor design is the give away), gives it real rarity.
Vendor Cherie Timney-Gunn told the Daily Record newspaper: "I felt the E-type should go to someone who would drive her and appreciate her and that she should not be languishing in a garage all the time."
A 1966 E-type discovered living under a hedge is selling at H&H Auctions in October.
A 2005 Ford GT was the auction's top seller - making £213,750 ($281,830).
