The Salmon Brothers Collection of 140 classic cars will head to the auction block in North Little Rock, Arkansas on June 16.
Spanning 100 years of motoring history, pride of place at the Mecum Auctions event will go to several 1957 Chevrolet Bel Airs.
Arguably the pick of the bunch is a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Fuelie Convertible. The superbly restored automatic features the rare FJ 283/293 HP fuel-injected V-8/Powerglide drive train, comes complete with power steering and Wonderbar radio, and is finished in Matador Red.

The twin brothers collected classic automobiles for more than 40 years, yet have nothing to do with the sale. The collection is thought to have been consigned by an investor who recently paid the brothers $6m for the cars. We expect the individual sales of the vehicles to far surpass that number, considering the several gems on offer.
"Every car collector in the country can appreciate what the Salmon brothers have brought together over the years," remarked auction house president and CEO Dana Mecum.
"Nearly every major domestic manufacturer has representative examples in this collection with vehicles ranging from a 1908 Maxwell to a Roush powered 2008 Ford Mustang."
The 1908 Maxwell is one for the real nostalgist, featuring a two-cylinder 14 horsepower engine and three-seed gearbox. Originally sold for $850, as with all the cars at the auction it will appear with no reserve.
