The F1-2000 car was raced by Schumacher in the Austrian Grand Prix in 2000, before retiring after just one lap. The Ferrari team retired the vehicle due to a collision in the race and it was subsequently rebuilt in the Ferrari factory in 2008. The model is one of only eight to be built and is the first to be designed entirely in the Maranello wind tunnel.
Remarkably, the F1-2000 is one of the more modestly priced Ferraris in the Monaco sale. A 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider is expected to reach a high of €4.1m.
This beautiful vintage Ferrari is one of 15 bodied by Pinin Farina and has won many accolades in South America, including two national championships in Argentina. With impeccable racing history, this is a unique chance for Monaco's millionaires to own one of Ferrari's most successful models of the period.
It looks as though 1950s Ferraris will set the pace at the auction, with a 1957 625 TRC Spider among the main lots. With fully documented provenance, the model is one of only two ever produced and has been described as "one of the prettiest Ferraris built". An estimate of €3.7m has been set for the incredible machine.
The auction will see over 22 excellent Ferraris, each with a unique and varied racing history. The sale will also feature some of the finest race cars brands, spanning over 60 years. A Bugatti Veyron, still the fastest car in the world, is sure to bring huge bids.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a great selection of F1 memorabilia for those who can't quite stretch to a Ferrari, such as this Lewis Hamilton signed F1 jersey.
