Tomorrow will be the last chance to bid online in the Monnaies d'Antan Mail Bid Sale of rare coins, which is dominated by French Royal pieces.
Two coins from the reign of Louis XIV are particularly collectible: firstly a 1702 draped bust, right-facing crown. From the first minting of its kind, it is estimated at €11,500-15,000 (a comparable piece sold in 2005 for €12,000).
The second, a gold ten franc piece, depicts Louis bareheaded whilst the reverse shows a cross with four crowns and four fleur-de-lis (symbolising France).

This coin type was struck in very limited numbers with 3948 specimens known to have existed. It is offered with the guide price of €7,000-12,000.
The auction takes place in Poses, France on May 21, and boasts Ancient Greek, Roman and Celtic coins alongside the coins of France and its colonies from various ages.
