A 20th century gold coin from Yemen will highlight Spink's "Islamic and Foreign" coins sale next month.
Produced between 1904 and 1948, the hugely rare gold presentation 5 lira is expected to make up to $5,000 at the January 15 sale at New York's Waldorf Astoria.

The sale, which comprises the prestigious Susquehanna and Dr Allam collections, will also feature an Egyptian Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos AR Tetradrachm.
Struck in Alexandria, the rare 55-51 BC coin features a diademed Ptolemy head on the obverse.
Spink calls it "a very rare coin fit to grace the most discerning collector", adding that "this coin paved the way for the iconic Ptolemaic Queen Cleopatra."
It has a $450 high estimate.
